PLM Business Consultant – Fashion & Apparel Industry
Are you passionate about digital transformation and product innovation within the Fashion industry? Do you understand the complexity of seasonal collections, supplier networks, and fast-moving product lifecycles?
We are looking for a PLM Business Consultant who can help our customers turn industry challenges into structured, scalable PLM solutions.
About the Role
As a PLM Business Consultant, you will work closely with Fashion and Apparel companies to design and implement PLM solutions that connect Design, Product Development, Sourcing, Merchandising, Sustainability, and Commercial teams.
You will bridge business and technology, translating operational challenges into practical system frameworks that improve speed-to-market, product governance, and cross-functional collaboration.
Industry Challenges You Understand
The Fashion industry operates in a highly dynamic and competitive environment:
- Rapid seasonal cycles and compressed development timelines
- Complex product structures (styles, colors, sizes, materials, trims)
- Global sourcing networks and supplier collaboration
- Cost pressure and margin optimization
- Frequent assortment changes and demand volatility
- Sustainability, traceability, and Digital Product Passport requirements
- Managing product data consistency across multiple systems
- Balancing creativity with operational efficiency
- Omnichannel and multi-market product variations
You understand how these factors impact product development, and how fragmented processes and disconnected systems create delays, inefficiencies, and missed opportunities.
What You Will Do
In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor to our customers, helping them define how their business processes and industry requirements should be supported by a PLM solution.
You will not primarily work operationally inside the PLM tool. Instead, you will focus on business transformation, best practices, and requirement definition by:
- Leading workshops with Design, Product Development, Sourcing, Merchandising, Sustainability, and Commercial teams
- Mapping current processes and identifying gaps and improvement opportunities
- Translating business challenges into clear, structured functional requirements
- Integration of sustainability and traceability data within PLM
- Defining how styles, materials, BOMs, cost structures, and product variants should be structured in PLM
- Advising on supplier collaboration workflows, costing processes, and sample management
- Recommending best-practice stage-gate and collection governance frameworks
- Supporting integration strategy with ERP, PIM, sourcing platforms, and analytics tools
- Collaborating closely with technical consultants and solution architects to ensure the system configuration aligns with business needs
- Supporting change management and stakeholder alignment across the organization
Your focus will be ensuring that the PLM solution supports real business outcomes — faster collections, improved cost control, stronger collaboration, and better data transparency.
Who You Are
We believe you are located in Sweden and have:
- Experience within Fashion/Apparel product development, sourcing, merchandising, or supply chain
- Strong understanding of seasonal product lifecycle processes
- Experience with PLM or related enterprise systems
- Ability to translate business needs into system solutions
- Excellent stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills
- A structured and analytical mindset
- Strong communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus)
- Experience from PLM platforms such as Centric, FlexPLM, or similar is an advantage
- Minimum 5 years experience working with PLM for Fashion and Apparel.
What We Offer
Opportunity to work with leading Fashion and Apparel brands
A collaborative and innovative work environment
Professional growth and continuous learning
Competitive compensation and benefits
If you want to shape the future of product development in the Fashion industry through smart PLM solutions, we would love to hear from you.
